Car Rental Insurance in Morocco, Explained Simply
Insurance is where most rental surprises happen. Here is the plain-language version.
The basics every rental includes
Moroccan law requires third-party liability insurance on every rental vehicle — damage you cause to other people and their property is covered by default.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
CDW limits what you pay if the rental car itself is damaged. It usually comes with an excess (deductible): the maximum amount you're responsible for. Ask for the excess amount in writing before signing.
Deposits
A refundable deposit — held in cash or on a card — is standard practice. Confirm the amount, how it's held, and how quickly it's released after the car is returned undamaged.
Questions worth asking
- What is the excess amount for this vehicle?
- Are tires, glass, and undercarriage covered?
- Is there a charge for a second driver?
- What happens if I return the car outside working hours?
At LUXURY CAR 83 every vehicle is comprehensively insured and inspected before each rental — and the price we quote is the price you pay.
